21st Radley Garden Competition 1st July 2017

The weather was kind for the 21st Annual front garden competition on 1st July.  12 judges from Abingdon, Kennington, North Hinksey and viewed all front gardens that are visible from the public highway and the following prizes were awarded:

BEST GARDENS:

Winner of the Attia Trophy: 51 Foxborough Road

Runner up: 34 Sugworth Lane

Highly Commended: 15 Sugworth Crescent, 42 Bigwood, 2 Bigwood, 1 St James Road, 16 Church Road, 44 St James Road, 2 Badgers Copse

Commended: 3 Drysdale Close, 62 Foxborough Road, 11 Badgers Copse, 4 Pebble Hill, 2 Selwyn Crescent, 2 Spinneys Close

BEST TUBS AND/OR HANGING BASKETS:

Winner of the Tuckwell Trophy: 5 Bluebell Ride

Runner up: 41 Pebble Hill

Highly Commended: 1 Blossoms Glade, 1 Bigwood, 9 Bigwood,

9 Foxborough Road, 40 St James Road, Woodside Woodlands, 35 Bigwood, 5 New Road, 34 St James Road

Commended: Sycamore House 1, Drysdale Close, 2 St James Road, 2 New Road, 1 New Road, 11 Spinneys Close

MOST COLOURFUL FLOWER GARDEN:

Winner of the Parish Council Trophy: 24 Pebble Hill

Runner Up: 26 Bigwood

Highly Commended: 9 Pebble Hill, 28 Bigwood, 3 Stonhouse Crescent, 7 Little Howe Close, 8 Little Howe Close, 57 Foxborough Road, 5 Catharine Close, 24 Sycamore Crescent, 8 Turners Close, 53 Foxborough Road

Commended:  8 Bigwood, 29 Lower Radley Caravan Park, 46 St James Road, 34 Stonhouse Crescent, 108 Foxbororough Road
