And they’re off! The start of the 42nd Radley Good Friday Walk |
The Radley Good Friday Charity Walk from the Bowyer Arms in Radley to Oxford and back, a distance of 12.5 miles, took place in its 42nd year on 25 March 2005 and attracted 32 entrants. The weather was fine and dry; some cloud at the start with the sun breaking through later. The temperature rose to a comfortable 16°C, ideal for both participants and spectators.
Chris Dales approaching the finish line The event was won by Chris Dales (above) in 2 hours 10 minutes 32 seconds, followed 39 seconds later by Mark West. Peter Wiblin, who won the event for the fifth successive time in 2004, came in third about 3 minutes behind the leader. The women’s walk was won by Lorraine Chapman, Viv Setchell and Sarah Lloyd who finished together. The Triangle Walk had over a 100 entrants and was won by Rachell Wood. |
