49th Radley Good Friday Walk
06 April 2012
The 2012 race marks the 49th anniversary of an event that first took place in 1963. What is actually the 50th race started in brilliant sunshine though the air was a little chilly following an overnight frost. |

A firework rocket signals the start of the 50th race.

Some are off the mark quicker than others

and start to push ahead

to create a clear lead.

Here they are striding past the bus stop…

with the rest of the field hard on their heels.

This is the rear guard only moments behind.

10th Radley Triangle 2012
For younger participants and those who favoured a shorter walk, there was the popular Radley Triangle – down over the railway bridge to Lower Radley, around the Lower Radley loop and back. |

People of all ages, shapes and sizes took part….

with some showing a clear competitive streak
but for most it is a walk to be enjoyed.

Traffic was held up while participants returned to the pavement .

Then came the descent into Lower Radley…

which some found easier than others.
A total of £74.20 was raised for the Village Fete Fund |
