Artweeks 2017 in Radley

logoArtweeks this year in Radley runs from Saturday 6 to Sunday 14 May.

There are three Artweeks sites in the village.

  • For the first time in a decade, John Huddleston (Site 60) is opening his workshop in St James Road rather than showing elsewhere. He will have his wide range of attractive, unusual or useful silverware and jewellery on show and for sale. He will be open from 11-6 on the weekend of 6-7 May and Friday to Sunday 12-14 May.
  • In Lower Radley (Site 63) there will be an open studio event showing the work of 3 printmakers: Jane Peart, Janet Lueck and Susan Wheeler. Opening times are 11- 6 every day except Thursday, which is 11- 8.

Jane will be showing copperplate etchings of landscapes and animals. Janet’s prints make use of many different print methods and are based on natural forms and objects. Susan’s prints are multiplate and reduction linocuts of landscapes, buildings and people.

There will also be a refreshment tent raising money for a local charity.

  • Radley College’s Sewell Centre is hosting a sculpture exhibition by Alison Berman (Site 59) every day from 11-5 apart from Sundays when it is closed.

There will be brochures available free in Radley Village Shop and much more online at www.artweeks.org

Artweeks is your chance to visit, talk to, and possibly buy work from artists and craftspeople across Oxfordshire. There are over 450 people showing their work this year in free exhibitions and events across the whole of the county.
