2007

A grey damp day on 30 June did not deter too many people from coming along to the 1940s theme event. Many of the stallholders entered into the spirit of the day supported by music from the era by Radley College Big Band.

2006

The weather was glorious for the 2006 Fete and Flower Show on 1 July, which also saw the election of the new Clerk of the Green Cloth. The theme this year was 'sport'.

Radley College Big Band played two selections either side of the children's races before the main event in the arena - an exciting falconry display (in which the participants did not always behave as intended and seemed to prefer sitting in a shady tree rather than performing in a very hot arena.

Commercial stalls were joined by side shows and stalls run by the following organisations:

At the Flower Show (held just in the Village Hall this year with no marquee), a presentation was made to Harry Nye for his devoted service over many years.

2005

This year's event was on Saturday 25 June. As well as the usual mix of interesting stalls provided by the village organisations around the theme of 'The Sea', there was a marching display by Abingdon Sea Cadets Band, a penalty shoot out, music by Radley College Big Band and a static display of vintage Morris Minors. Hot dogs, cream teas, ice creams and soft drinks were available along with a grand draw with a top prize of £100.00 and many other prizes, and a bouncy castle for the children.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was an Exhibition of Pictures and Documents by Radley History Club relating to the sea battle known as 'THE GLORIOUS FIRST OF JUNE 1794'

in which Admiral Sir George Bowyer of Radley Hall lost a leg.  The Exhibition of more than 50 items included information about the Bowyer Family and their connection with Radley.

2004

The 2004 fete saw an amusing Fancy Dress Competition and a particularly interesting exhibition of the history of Radley by the History Club. Unfortunately the weather was not kind to the outdoor events. The rain, though not the drenching, was enough to dampen spirits - not to mention the drum majorettes' pompoms.
