Radley Fete and Flower Show, 18 June 2011
The weather was generally breezy and sunny, punctuated by brief heavy showers, which failed to spoil the fun.

The theme of this year's fete was pirates.

The jolly roger was duly hoisted.

Here it is fluttering in the breeze over the grog tent (where else?)

Scary

(Guaranteed to keep even pirates away.)

Not so scary

A range of music to suit most tastes was played, but no sea shanties or pirate songs. (Maybe Radley is just too far from the sea for that sort of authenticity.)

Hands-on Hawker Hunter cockpit.

A bit tricky to climb into, but a doddle for little pirates used to hanging from the yardarms.
