The
21 starters for the 43rd Radley Good Friday Walk were
greeted by fine drizzle but the rain stopped as the
Clerk
of the Green Cloth, Carol Cavanagh, gave the signal
to begin and the weather improved throughout the day.
Chris Dales won for the second year running in a time
of 2 hours 13 minutes and 16 seconds. Chris (the tallest
man in the photo above) was also 1st Local Man.
Peter
Wilbin, a former winner on several occasions, was 2nd
Man and 1st Over 35 home in 2 hours 16 minutes and 15
seconds.
The
1st Lady was Tara Scott (aged 13) in 2 hours 32 minutes
and 19 seconds, followed by Debbie Couling in 2 hours
34 minutes and 39 seconds.
The
1st Local Over 35 Man was Mel Turner (only some six
minutes behind the winner) and the 1st Local Over 35
Lady was Anne Harvey-Lynch.
Kier Harrower aged 9 completed the course in 3 hours
3 minutes and 45 seconds (ahead of many adults) to take
the Youth and Special Prize Award. Kier is the youngest
ever to complete the full course of 12 miles.

Radley Triangle
A
total of 60 people of all ages took part. Shannon Russell
won in a record time of 19 minutes 47 seconds, closely
followed by Danille Warren and George Warren. Easter
eggs and other goodies were given to all finishers by
the sponsors – Radley Youth Club.
The
profits from the day of £120
were handed to the Village Fete Committee.
Raffle
prizes were donated by Peter Wiblin, Charlie
McCarthy, Paddy Docker-Drysdale, Mary & Eric Blanks,
