Get Your Programme and Entry Form for the Radley Flower Show

This year’s Radley Flower Show will be held on Saturday 25th June at the Radley Village Hall and Gooseacre playing field. The flower show is a friendly, amateur competition and the whole family can take part; it is open to all, including non-Radley residents. There are lots of exciting categories for you to enter (much more than flowers) – take a look at the programme and have a go!

The success of the show is dependent on people participating (and on good weather on the day!), so choose which categories you would like to enter and send in your entry form. Entry fees are 50p per exhibit for the adult categories and free for the children and youth categories. There are lots of trophies and small cash prizes to win.

This year’s theme is “the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee”. Themed categories reflect the Queen and subjects we associate with her (e.g. the Royal Yacht, the Royal Barge, hats, handbags, corgis/pets, etc.); Platinum Jubilee celebrations; and the various rewilding and environmental projects to mark the Queen’s 70 years of service (we have included recycling):

  • A decorated “Queen Elizabeth Cake”
  • Jubilee cupcakes (adults and youths)
  • A posy of garden flowers to present to the Queen
  • Flower arrangement on the theme “Jubilee Celebration”
  • Design a Jubilee commemoration stamp
  • Photographs of roses, heritage buildings, pets, and boats/barges
  • Anniversary/Congratulations greetings card
  • Portrait of English/British queen Andy Warhol/pop art style (youths)
  • Decorated biscuits “Crown Jewels” theme (children)
  • Pictures of royal palaces/castles (children)
  • Jubilee coin/medal (children)
  • Bug hotel from recycled materials (youths)
  • Growing a plant in a homemade recycled plant pot (adults and youths – a used tin with drainage holes would be fine!)
  • Soft toy made by reusing socks or tights
  • Pet animal made using fruit or vegetables (children).

Programmes and entry forms are available at Radley Village Shop or online on this page.

Please submit entry forms early and at least one week before the show (by Saturday 18th June). We need time to process the entry forms and send out competitor number cards and instructions before the show.

Photographs and a report about last year’s show and newsletters about this year’s show are on the Radley Flower Show pages of the Radley Village parish website (here).

More information will follow soon about what is happening on the day.
