The
Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government
has today issued a Holding Order on the planning application
by RWE Npower to fill Lake E with pulverised fuel ash
(PFA). This prevents Oxfordshire County Council from
granting consent for the scheme without the Secretary
of State's authorisation.
Because
the resolution by Oxfordshire County Council to grant
permission is contrary to the local development plan,
the application has had to be referred to the Secretary
of State (See previous story).
The Secretary of State has now issued a holding directive
under article
14 of the Town and Country Planning Act, because
of the number of representations and the complexity
of issues has meant that more time is needed in which
to consider the matter.
The
order applies for an indefinite period, but may be lifted
at any time.
If
you wish to make representations to the Secretary of
State on this matter then you should write to:
| Rt
Hon Ruth Kelly MP |
| Secretary of State
for Communities and Local Government |
| Eland House |
| Bressenden Place |
| London |
| SW1 5DU |
Because
time is limited, you should also copy your letter to:
| Mr
Mark Newman |
| Thames Valley
Area Team |
| Planning and Transport |
| Government Office
for the South East |
| Bridge House |
| 1 Walnut Tree
Close |
| Guildford |
| GU1 4GA |
Representations should focus on "the wider issues".
