Help wanted: Can you identify
any of the creatures in the following photographs? If
so, please contact
us.
A
nomad bee of some sort. Notable features are: very narrow
waist, orange/red antennae and legs; yellow and black
banded abdomen with some orange in bands nearer thorax;
some oange-yellow markings on back of thorax.
Smaller
than common wasp.
Field
of view is 13mm x 12mm approx.

small green and brown male spider (above and right)
was found among debris from dead-heading in the herbaceous
border.

Closeup
of same spider as shown to left.
Body
length, excluding palps, was 3mm.
The striking green and yellow colouration of its abdomen
is what got it noticed in the first place.
