Planning Applications

Planning applications will be considered by a planning committee, which will meet (if necessary) at 7pm on the evening of the Ordinary Parish Council meeting (normally the 4th Thursday of the month).

PLANNING COMMITTEE TERMS OF REFERENCE:

PURPOSE:

To determine planning applications on behalf of the Council.

To set out a policy determining the Council’s position on planning applications

AUTHORITY

Delegated power to determine planning applications on behalf of the Council. 

Decisions made by the committee are binding on the Council.

 

FREQUENCY:

Meeting timetabled month.

The committee will not meet if there are no applications to consider.

If the committee decides that it will not meet, the Council will return a decision “no strong views”.

 

MEMBERSHIP:

5 Councillors: Crs Pasquire-Crowley, D Standen, J Standen, Walker and Yorston. 3 will constitute a quorum.

 

SUBSTITUTION:  Where a committee member is unable to attend a meeting, they may appoint a substitute member, provided that the nominating councillor a) has the agreement of that member and b) they inform the Clerk prior to the commencement of the meeting.

Councillors who are not members of the committee may attend meetings and speak on applications, but will not be able to vote.
