Parish Plan Steering Committee Set Up

Following two public meetings arranged by Radley Parish Council, a Parish Plan Steering Committee has been formed to co-ordinate the preparation of a Parish Plan for Radley. The preparation of a Parish Plan is a community initiative when all aspects of the village and the life of its community are considered.

The Steering Committee (formerly the Steering Group) has received advice from Anton Nath of the Oxfordshire Rural Community Council on the way forward. It has already met three times and will meet on the third Monday of each month starting on 21 September 2009 at 7 pm at Radley Primary School (venues to be confirmed).

The main aim of the Steering Committee is to obtain the views of all members of the community (from the young to the elderly) on how they wish the community to develop. The Committee hopes to do this by:

  •  Joining in activities of other village Committees to obtain the views of their members
  •  Arranging some special events in the coming months to obtain views of Radley residents who are not members of the various village organisations.

After analysing the feedback from these communication routes, the Committee plans to prepare and circulate a questionnaire within Radley. Whether this is to households or individuals has yet to be decided and the Committee would welcome your views on this.

If you are interested in joining the Committee or helping with its work, please contact the chairman, of the steering Committee (email: parishplan@radleyvillage.org.uk), or secretary, Sally Raven (email: sally@radleyvillage.org.uk). The Committee is particularly keen to involve the younger members of the community. It would also welcome ideas for a logo.
