Highlights of meetings 2010

January 2010

Bus Service: The Parish Council is very surprised that the road through Kennington and Radley had not been salted/gritted during the recent inclement weather to allow the Premium Bus Service 35 to run its normal route, especially as the Oxfordshire County Council has invested a lot of time and money in upgrading the 35 Bus Service to a premium route because of the amount of people who rely on this service. A lot of concern had been expressed about this and a letter had been sent to the Oxfordshire County Council from the Parish Council asking that it reconsiders its decision not to include this route on its priority list. Kennington Parish Council has also following up this matter. If you have concerns about this please write to Mr Keith Mitchell at the Oxfordshire County Council, County Hall, Oxford, OX1 1ND to express these.

Potholes: It is appreciated that there are now more potholes in the Parish, and County Councillor Fatemian has outlined the OCC policy for repair work. However, the Parish Council is pressing for repairs along the Radley Road where recent repairs have deteriorated badly, and for Thrupp Lane to be designated as a failed road.
