Today we carried out some light clearance work to open up the views across the lake from the designated viewpoints. It was yet another glorious day, if somewhat breezy and a little cooler than we had become accustomed to.

Clearing vegetation that had been obstructing the view from the bird hide on the W side of the lake. Here we see willow branches being removed from the lake after being cut down.

As a result, several hitherto unseen views have been opened up across the lake. Here are some photographs of them taken just as the work was completed: |

On this occasion the weather was not so good. However the day began dry and some useful work was done cutting back ivy from a clearing by the path at the northern edge of the lake to provide an opportunity for other plants to establish. By noon, it was raining steadily and we decided to call it a day, but not before enjoying some tea and cakes in the shelter.
