Radley Retirement Group – Newsletter March 2019

What we have been doing

As not all of our members were able to attend the Anniversary lunch at Cosenors House in January, for our February meeting we had an afternoon of tea and cakes to continue celebrating  our 30th Anniversary.  The room was decorated  with balloons and the tables had beautiful flower arrangements ,  arranged by Carole Milward.  During the afternoon Chris Gasson entertained us with his guitar and Andrea Saunders had arranged a quiz which was left on the tables for members to do during the afternoon.  After the tea and cakes we were entertained by several members of the committee to a short sketch of “Pretty Woman” along with an appearance from Roy Orbison (aka Bill Shaw), which had been done previously but many members had not seen.

During the afternoon  three founder members, Doug Rawlinson, Barbara Wootton and Jean Willans were presented with a gift and given life membership.  They were thanked for their support over so many years.

The cost of the holiday is £550 including the ferry crossings and the railway but could be reduced, as the Barmouth one was, if we get enough people.

Balance is due.
