Radley Retirement Group – Newsletter November 2015

What we have been doing:

The outing to the Magna Flora Festival in Salisbury Cathedral in September was enjoyed by all those who went, with many specially designed flower arrangements to see which were done by top class arrangers.  There were also live demonstrations to watch and  for those who wanted to explore Salisbury there were plenty of  museums and art galleries to view, and of course plenty of shops to visit!!!!

Our speaker for October was Dr Tony Maisey  whose talk this time  was called “What sort of Doctor”.  We have heard Dr Maisey before and his talks are always very informative but very entertaining.  This time he gave us plenty to think about should we be interviewing a prospective candidate for our local  Surgery.  Should we have someone who will spend time with us, which may mean that we had to wait longer for an appointment; do we expect our Surgery to be open for longer hours, but how can a Doctor work the extra hours that many of us would not, in order to have this  happen.

There were many things we had not thought about and it was good to look at both sides of the coin.

Members were reminded that any cakes or small handicrafts would be gratefully received to sell at the Christmas Bazzaar on 21st November.

Future dates…….
