Radley Retirement Group – Newsletter November 2021

We had a very interesting talk in October from Peter Hague about his life as an “extra” in films and television.  It gave us an insight into the background of making a television programme.  He said that there was a lot of waiting around and time to eat too much!!!!

The first trip of the year was very successful.  This was a visit to Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth.  The weather was very good and everyone said they  enjoyed the day.

Future Events

• Our next meeting will be on 16^th November. PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF DATE.  Also at this meeting there will be a short AGM to discuss the Constitution. Our speaker will be Christine Wootton who will tell us about her time on The Orient Express.
• Christmas Bazaar on 20^th November in the Village Hall.  There will be the usual mix of stalls, gifts and a large raffle.  If you would like a table please contact Judith on Ab 531001 or jbland1942@btinternet.com.
• Anniversary Lunch on 15^th January.  The cost of this will be £32 including a glass of wine.

Outings

Unfortunately the trip to Bath Christmas Market has been cancelled but Graham has managed to re-arrange things and we are now going to Birmingham German Market on November 30^th.  The cost will be £20 for members and £22 for non-members.

Holidays
