Shop to open longer from 17th May

Opening hours at Radley Village Shop will open longer during the week from Monday 17 May, with the shop shutting at 5 pm (and not 2 pm ). The shop will still be opening at 7 am, and from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm on Saturdays, and from 9 am to 12 noon on Sundays.  Opening hours on Bank Holiday Monday (31 May) will be 9 am to 12 noon.

With the scheduled easing of lockdown restrictions from 17 May, the management committee decided at its meeting on 10 March to open longer as enough volunteers had indicated they would be happy to return from 17 May to enable the rota to be extended from three to four shifts. You may see a member of staff on the shop floor putting out stock, etc. but they’ll be wearing a face covering and observing the one-metre-plus social distancing rule.

Until restrictions ease further, to maintain social distancing we’ll be continuing to limit the number of customers in the shop at any one time to two. Our ‘traffic light’ system on the door would let you know whether you can come in straight away or need to wait.

Further good news: the ice cream freezer is back in the store just in time for the warmer weather, together with the table and chairs outside and the return of the home produce stand.

Thank you to everyone for their continued custom during the past year or so during these difficult times for us all.
