Join Radley Parish Council

An election is being organised to fill the 4 seats on the Parish Council left vacant at the election in May, though an election will be held only if there are more nominations than places.

Download application papers

Nomination papers must be returned by hand to the Vale of White Horse offices in Milton Park during working hours between 22nd July and 4.00 pm on 8th August.  A call to the District Council Electoral Services on 01235 422528 would tell you the best time to take your papers along.

You will need 2 neighbours who are on the electoral register for Radley to formally propose and second you.  The District Council will be able to help with their electoral register numbers

What the parish council does

The parish council has three main roles.

  • Pursuing and promoting Radley’s interests on matters such as local parking and traffic management, local service failures and the threat posed by the possible Oxford-Cambridge Expressway.
  • Implementing the Neighbourhood Plan, and submitting comments on planning applications on behalf of the local community.
  • Looking after local facilities and open spaces, such as the allotments and the Gooseacre playing field and pavilion.

Your role as a councillor would be to bring much needed ideas and energy to this work, and to help ensure that parish council action reflects local people’s concerns and priorities.

Am I eligible?

You must live or work in Radley parish or within 3 miles of its boundaries. You must also be at least 18 and a British, Commonwealth or EU citizen.  See more here.
