Radley Retirement Group – Newsletter January 2021

It was with great sadness that the Committee met without our Chairman, Dick Crabb, who sadly passed away suddenly.  The Committee held a minutes silence to remember him.  He had worked so hard since taking on the role of Chairman and will be sadly missed.  We are fortunate that Chris Gasson has agreed to step into the position of Chairman and we wish him every success in the future.

Another blow to the Committee was the resignation of Eric Blanks from the Committee.  He had given so much time to the Club both as a member and as Chairman.  We are grateful for all his work but we are pleased Eric will still remain a member of the Club.

All members should have received a Christmas card, a member’s card, and an outline of the speakers and events lined up for 2021.  We hope these events will start as soon as possible. There will be no joining fee for those who paid last year.

Our holidays are open to everyone.  You do not have to be a member of Radley Retirement Group to enjoy these.  If you are interested in any please get in touch with Chris Gasson on 01235 526377 or for the holidays abroad, Judith Bland on 01235 531001.  The ones in England all start with a coach pickup in Radley.  For the ones abroad, those going, pay a nominal fee for a coach to take us there and back to the airport.

The film “What we did on our holiday” was some light relief from the dreary days of December and was enjoyed by 15 members.  We hope to have another comedy film on Tuesday 19th January.  Look out for more films in the near future.

We wish you all a happy and healthy New Year and hope to see you all soon.  Most of all stay safe.

Jenny Jones
